Investor frequently asked questions
- What stages does Rosary Capital invest at?
- We invest from inception to pre-seed. We are a first cheque investor and do not require product market fit or revenue before we commit. We look for unique insight, speed of learning and evidence that a team can achieve a great deal with very little.
- Which sectors are eligible?
- We focus on fintech and technology led businesses connected to the City of London, alongside ambitious founders building for global markets from a UK base. We do not invest in businesses whose primary activity falls outside technology enabled growth, and we avoid sectors where we cannot add practical support.
- How can I invest alongside Rosary Capital?
- Investors typically participate through co-investment in individual companies, or by supporting the wider Profit with Purpose programme. The route that is available to you depends on your investor classification and the structure of the specific opportunity. [CONFIRM: available investment vehicles and their regulatory status]
- What is the minimum investment?
- Minimums are set on a deal by deal basis and depend on the structure of the round and the number of participants. [CONFIRM: minimum subscription amount per vehicle]
- Who is eligible to participate?
- Participation is limited to investors who can be appropriately categorised under the relevant financial promotion rules, which ordinarily means high net worth individuals, self certified sophisticated investors, professional investors and institutions. We will ask you to complete a categorisation statement before sharing any opportunity. [CONFIRM: investor categorisation process and approving firm for financial promotions]
- Does Rosary Capital lead investment rounds?
- Yes. We are often the first to believe in a company and we typically lead or invest solo on our first cheque. We sometimes co-lead alongside like minded funds, and occasionally follow other top tier funds in larger rounds. We rarely lead follow-on rounds.
- How are companies selected?
- Every company is sourced through our own network and the wider City ecosystem, then assessed against our investment criteria. We weigh the quality of the founding team, the originality of their insight, how quickly they learn and whether they have identified the metrics that genuinely matter for their business.
- How are investments structured?
- Most first cheques are made through equity or convertible instruments on terms agreed with the company and any co-investors. The precise structure varies by round. [CONFIRM: standard instruments used and any nominee or syndicate arrangements]
- What information will investors receive?
- Co-investors receive the information rights negotiated for the relevant round, which ordinarily include periodic company updates and notice of material events. Reporting arrangements depend on the investment vehicle and the rights available to us. [CONFIRM: committed reporting frequency and format]
- Does Rosary Capital reserve capital for follow-on investment?
- Yes. We hold back capacity to follow on into the strongest companies in the portfolio, so that our best performers can be supported through subsequent rounds. Follow-on participation is always at our discretion and is never guaranteed to any company.
- How does Rosary Capital manage conflicts of interest?
- We maintain a conflicts policy covering allocation between investors, related party interests and the roles our team members hold elsewhere. Any material conflict is disclosed to affected investors before an investment proceeds. [CONFIRM: final conflicts of interest policy wording]
- What are the principal risks?
- Investing in early stage private companies is high risk. You should be prepared to lose the whole of your investment. These holdings are illiquid, may be difficult or impossible to sell, are likely to be diluted by later rounds, and rarely pay dividends. Past performance is not a guide to future results and you should not invest more than you can afford to lose.
- How does the Profit with Purpose model work?
- We pursue commercial returns while deliberately widening access to opportunity in the City. Portfolio companies are connected to young talent through our partnership with TechStart, giving founders access to capable people and giving those people a route into growing businesses. The commercial case and the social benefit are intended to reinforce one another rather than trade off against each other.
- Does Rosary Capital guarantee financial or social outcomes?
- No. No return, distribution, placement or other outcome is promised or guaranteed. All figures shown on this website are illustrative and depend on individual circumstances, and nothing here should be read as a forecast or as financial advice.
Profit with Purpose
Profit with Purpose
Rosary Capital is built on the belief that commercial success and wider opportunity should reinforce one another.
We invest in companies with the potential to create financial value, while using our position within the City of London to open doors for young people who may not otherwise have access to the technology, finance and investment sectors.
This is not a separate charitable programme attached to the investment business. It is part of how we think about talent, company building and long-term value.
The commercial case
Purpose as a source of long-term value.
Early-stage companies compete for capable, adaptable and ambitious people. At the same time, talented young people from lower-income backgrounds are often excluded from the networks through which opportunities in finance and technology are found.
Rosary Capital aims to connect those two needs.
By giving portfolio companies access to emerging talent, paid project support, apprenticeships and early-career recruitment, we can help founders build stronger teams while giving young people meaningful experience in high-growth businesses.
- Talent
- Help founders identify capable young people who may be overlooked by traditional recruitment routes.
- Capability
- Give young people practical experience working on real commercial and technology projects.
- Retention
- Build a stronger pipeline of talent connected to companies in the City of London.
- Growth
- Help early-stage businesses access additional skills and capacity as they develop.
Not every portfolio business will take part. Participation depends on the company's stage, capacity and commercial needs.
Supporting young talent
Opening access to the City.
Rosary Capital will work with TechStart and other approved organisations to create practical routes into fintech, technology, investment and professional services.
The focus will be on paid work, genuine responsibility and direct exposure to employers, founders and investors.
- Paid internships
- Apprenticeships
- Work placements
- Founder and investor shadowing
- Live business projects
- Technology and product assignments

- Visits to financial and technology businesses

Relationship with TechStart
Connecting investment with opportunity.
Rosary Capital's relationship with TechStart provides a route through which young people can gain experience within early-stage companies and the wider City business community.
TechStart has experience helping young people move into technology employment through paid work, practical training, apprenticeships, employer partnerships and international exposure.
Where appropriate, Rosary Capital will introduce participating companies to young people who can support real projects while developing their own skills and experience.
Rosary Capital and TechStart are separate organisations. Any services, referrals, funding arrangements or shared activities will be governed by appropriate agreements and conflict-of-interest procedures. An investment never requires a company to use TechStart.
