What we are building towards.
Rosary Capital is developing a proposed inception-to-pre-seed investment strategy focused on technology companies capable of benefiting from the City of London.
No investment structure is currently open and Rosary Capital is not currently making or offering investments. The principles below describe the direction in which we intend to develop the strategy.
Principles guiding the strategy
- Insight before scale
- At the earliest stages, we believe a founder's understanding of a problem can be more interesting than current revenue. We want to understand what the founders know that others may have missed.
- Speed of learning
- Young companies inevitably get things wrong. What interests us is how quickly founders learn, test assumptions and make better decisions.
- Evidence of a genuine problem
- An impressive product is not enough. We are interested in businesses solving problems that customers genuinely need resolved and for which there could ultimately be a meaningful commercial market.
- Capital discipline
- Early-stage capital should help a company establish something important rather than simply increase its cost base. We are interested in founders who understand the value of achieving a great deal with limited resources.
- Institutional potential
- The City contains some of the world's most sophisticated financial and professional services customers. We are particularly interested in technology that could eventually earn the confidence of those organisations.
- Long-term ambition
- We want to meet founders interested in building substantial businesses. The objective is not simply the next funding round. The more interesting question is what the company could become.
